How a pinch valve works for a pipe system
Closed or open for a pipeline. When vacuum conveying from multiple locations to the same delivery point, we can control which pipe or hose we need to open or close. Pinch valves are a reliable and low-maintenance solution for controlling powders, granules and other bulk materials. The valve regulates or shuts off the product flow by squeezing a flexible sleeve, so that the product only comes into contact with the valve's inner sleeve. This reduces wear and tear, minimises the risk of blockages and ensures tight and efficient flow control, even in demanding applications.
Why use pinch valves?
Good for Diverter line funktion
Lower risk of product build-up
Hygienic solution
Suitable for ATEX areas
We help you choose the right pinch valve for the job, based on your requirements for hygiene, operation and production.
Examples of pipe components
We work with various manufacturers within pipe components. We have experience that means we know what challenges the manufacturers face and which factories have the best components.
Large-radius and wrinkle-free pipe bends
Transport hoses / Vacuum hoses
Hoses are often the most flexible and cost-effective solution in vacuum conveying systems, especially in manufacturing environments where equipment is continually moved, cleaned or reconfigured. They make installation straightforward, reduce the need for custom-built pipe systems, and allow for quick assembly and adaptation. At Provak we offer both PUR and PVC vacuum hoses.

Pipe fittings and hose connections
Feed nozzles / suction lances / suction tubes
Our Feed nozzles and suction lances make it easy and efficient to convey powder and granules from bags, containers or tanks into a vacuum conveyor system, without unnecessary spillage or contamination. We offer standard solutions in multiple diameters as well as custom-made versions adapted to your process and product.

What type of transport hose?
For a vacuum conveying system, as a rule of thumb, you should choose a food-grade, antistatic and vacuum-resistant conveying hose that is dimensioned according to the powder's properties, the conveying distance and the desired capacity.
When choosing a transport hose for vacuum conveying, one should look in particular at
- Vacuum class → The hose must be able to maintain its shape under the relevant vacuum level.
- Antistatic or conductive design → With dry powders, friction can create static electricity. Therefore, the hose should be antistatic or conductive and installed correctly with an earth connection.
- Food approval → For food, pharma and ingredients, the hose must be FDA/EU-approved.
The optimal transport system often consists of both stainless steel pipes and flexible vacuum hoses. At Provak, we typically recommend a short transparent hose at the inlet of the PIAB vacuum conveyor so that the product flow can be seen directly. This provides increased process control, faster troubleshooting and greater peace of mind in daily operations.
Professional installation of piping and hoses
When you invest in a vacuum conveyor or other process equipment from Provak, it makes good sense to let us handle the installation of pipework and hoses. With many years of experience in pneumatic conveying, we ensure that all components are correctly dimensioned and fitted so that the system achieves maximum capacity, operational reliability and energy efficiency. We take responsibility for the entire solution, from planning and material selection to assembly and commissioning. This means fewer risks, a quicker start-up and the assurance that pipes, bends, hoses and valves work together optimally with the rest of the equipment. The result is a more stable production, less maintenance and a solution that is ready for many years of operation.
How do we ensure correct sizing?
Correct pipe sizing is essential for an efficient and reliable vacuum conveying system. At Provak, we base our approach on your process, material, and capacity requirements to ensure the optimal solution.
- The material's properties, including density, particle size and abrasive wear.
- Pipe lengths and number of bends to minimise pressure drop and energy consumption.
- Selection of hoses, pipe bends, valves and couplings to ensure the components are suitable for the application.
- Pipe diameters, so that the air speed is correct throughout the system.
- Integration into existing facilities
